The 2008 Phincas is a blend of five biodynamically farmed parcels with a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 15% Graciano, 10% Garnacha, and 5% Viura. The wine was fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for 14 months in French oak before bottling without filtration. Inviting scents of exotic spices, incense, pepper, smoke, black cherry, and blackberry lead to a dense, layered, plush wine with a vibrant acid structure likely from the Graciano component. With excellent volume and precision balance, expect this impressive wine to evolve for 2-3 years and provide optimum drinking through 2023 if not longer. -93pts WA (JM)
