The 2008 Paso las Monjas is sourced from a single vineyard located in the northwest of Navarra near the Pyrenees. The wine is 100% Garnacha aged 14 months in seasoned French oak. Spicy black fruits, mineral, floral notes, and tobacco lead to a slightly compact wine with modest complexity and 2-3 years of aging potential. It is likely to fill out with some additional bottle age and perhaps achieve an outstanding rating. -89+pts WA (JM)
