The estate’s 2004 Lupicaia is a massive, densely structured wine loaded with dark fruit, sweet herbs, menthol and toasted oak. This powerful wine comes across as very shut down, yet it offers superb length and outstanding potential once the tannins begin to melt away. Lupicaia is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% and Petit Verdot aged 18 months in French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2019. -92pts WA (AG)
